About Lucy Xinwen Cui
Hi, ^V^ My name is Lucy Xinwen Cui, and I am a storyboard artist!
I started drawing when I was nine and ever since then I’ve been in love with it. I graduated from Central Academy of Fine Art (CAFA) in China with a bachelor’s degree of 3D animation, but my true passion has always been with traditional media.
To pursue my dreams I joined the 2D Animation Storyboard department at the Academy of Art University (AAU).I enjoy creating my own stories and comics, I spend lots of time drawing manga which were designed and written by myself when I was in undergraduate. Through the process of making those comics I learned a lot, such as staging, environment design, character design etc. I also learned to play trumpet in my spare time, and i have a lot of fun with it.
I have a strong foundation in Fine Art, like understanding chiaroscuro, using color theories in my drawing. I also enjoy drawing and visually telling stories in entertainment format.
Drawing is part of me and it will be with me for as long as possible, I can never stop learning and enjoying what it shows. Not the drawing skills I’m talking about, but way it changesmy thinking, shows the beauty of the world and let me pursue that beauty.
